Service
Marketing audit: what works, and what only looks like it does
We look at your marketing activity and tell you where the holes are, what can be improved and what is not worth spending on any longer. With recommendations somebody can actually execute.
Take this service if
There is spend but no understanding. Budget goes out monthly, reports come back, and there is still no answer to what of it works.
The agency or the marketer changed. You need to know what you inherited: what was done well, what is broken, and what simply never got finished.
Growth stalled. It used to move and now it does not, and nobody can say whether that is the ceiling of the niche, a mistake, or a penalty.
You are about to scale. Before putting more in, it is worth checking you will not be multiplying current mistakes.
The most common audit finding is not “everything is bad”. It is “you are doing the right things in a direction that should never have been touched”.
What is included
We look at what we understand
We do not audit your engineering, your sales or your brand — and we do not pretend we can. The audit covers demand, search, content and external mentions.
The technical base
Indexing, speed, structure, duplicates, schema, mobile. The things that quietly consume the results of everything else.
Content and semantics
Whether the funnel stages are covered, who the copy is written for, where pages cannibalise each other, and which ones never had a chance.
Links and mentions
Profile, pace, source quality, risks. Separately: whether models cite you, and what they lean on in your topic.
How we do it
From data to priorities
01
Collect access
Search Console, analytics, the site. If there is no access we work from open data — and say plainly what that will hide from us.
02
Capture the state
Technical, content, links, visibility. Alongside it a basic competitor comparison, so we know what normal looks like in your niche.
03
Find causes
Not a list of faults but an answer to why the result is what it is. One cause usually explains half the symptoms.
04
Prioritise
Every recommendation gets an effect-versus-effort rating. A list of two hundred items helps nobody.
05
Talk it through
A session where we walk through the conclusions and answer questions. A document without a conversation gets skimmed.
What you get
Recommendations, not a list of complaints
The state of each area: technical, content, links, visibility in search and in models
Causes, not just symptoms
A prioritised list of work with effect and effort ratings
What your own team can do and what needs a supplier
What to stop doing — and how much that frees up
An honest answer when the problem sits outside our competence
An audit can be taken on its own. On one project the entire engagement came to 82 hours of consulting — we broke the situation down, gave recommendations and parted ways, because the client did not need a supplier after that.

When an audit changed the direction of work
Every figure comes from Ahrefs, covering the period from the start to the end of the work.

What we get asked most
How long does it take?
One to three weeks, depending on the size of the site and how much access we have. A fifty-page site and a ten-thousand-page portal are different jobs.
Will you criticise the previous supplier?
We describe the state as it is, without making it personal: our job is for you to understand the situation, not to get somebody fired. Where the work was done well, we say so.
Do we have to work with you afterwards?
No. The audit is a finished service with its own deliverable. Part of the recommendations usually gets executed by the client’s own team, and that is a normal ending.
Our traffic dropped and it is urgent. Can you help?
Then it is a narrower job — a drop investigation — and it moves faster. Say so up front and we reorder the work.
Let us see what is going on
An audit answers where the money goes and what to change first. Even if you then do it without us.
